STEM Family Free Night
Iowa Children’s Museum — Friday, Aug. 28 at 5 p.m.
This Friday at the Iowa Children’s Museum, enjoy an evening with all of your favorite exhibits and participate in special STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities sponsored by the Southeast Iowa STEM Hub. Admission is free, with activities focusing on “STEM problem-based learning” in collaboration with Rockwell Collins.
The Southeast Iowa STEM Hub — a joint collaboration between the University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College — focuses on expanding STEM learning within the communities they serve, including 66 school districts, 17 counties and a variety of home school associations, scout troops and child care facilities. By partnering with the Iowa Children’s Museum, which encourages children to learn and explore through play, the two organizations hope to spark youth interest in STEM by creating a highly dynamic learning environment.
