The Beggarmen
Englert Theatre — Saturday, July 25 at 8 p.m.
Delve into the heart of Celtic music with the Iowa City-based Irish quartet The Beggarmen this Saturday. Part of the Intimate at the Englert Series, those who attend (100 tickets available) will share the stage with the band, creating an experience not to be missed.
For over a decade, The Beggarmen have been performing across the Midwest with music that the Englert describes as “rooted in tradition, but open to possibilities.” With four members, eight instruments and powerful vocals, the band is prepared to perform both traditional and original material.
Best known for their expert live performance skills, the Beggarmen have graced the stages of the Iowa Arts Festival, the Celtic Festival and Highland Games of the Quad Cities. They’ve also collaborated with community staples like the University of Iowa Symphony Band and provided musical accompaniment for Riverside Theatre productions. According to Mark Gunn of Celtic Music Magazine, “The Beggarmen are out to change the way people listen to Celtic Music. And they’re doing it right.”
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
